It won't be a man in tights, cloak and his underwear over his pants; I'm talking about a guy who may wear white pants, a loose t-shirt, and white cap. His side kick will be carrying a bag with all his metallic clubs ready to strike the small white balls on the field to defeat all those who are ready to challenge him at the PGA Travelers Championship. But who will be this Hero?
This coming season, the best of Europe, Asia, Australia and Africa come to Connecticut to compete in the PGA Travelers' Championship. These players are ready to take another trophy for the old continent. But America has great players too, taking the USA players at first glance, we have the defending champion Bubba Watson, Mark Wilson, Phil Mickelson, and don't forget that many of the recent victories are thanks to Tiger Woods. From the south of the American continent, 2 Latin American will be competing, Angel Cabrera from Argentina and Jhonattan Vegas from Venezuela.
While many good players have carried the banner of this side of the sea for a decade, Woods has made the most considerable harm to the old land, taking 71 wins on tour and 14 major championships. However, not every tournament can fall only on his hands, it won't be fair with so many talented players. The possibilities to get the trophy to the American side are very high.
Many of the already mentioned players at the American side have the skill to claim the victory, but are they ready to become the American hero?
Defining who will be is a difficult task, even for the handicappers, you may ask why? Well, its simple; not so long ago, they could pick one guy who easily entered the field and defeat everyone and won every tournament, but right, the times has changed and now they have to deal with many good players.
Some months or years ago, the dominant player was Woods, or Nicklaus. Both were so dominant in the green that was easy to say who will be the winner. But now you must pat attention to at least 50 guys who know what are they doing and can change the results of a tournament in 2, 3, or 5 birdies; and they just start winning a lot of times.
The sport is growing and has become more attractive, so is bringing more players to it from every corner of the world, Venezuela, Australia, North Ireland, South Korea, South Africa, and Scotland, the best of the best of each of these countries gather at Cromwell, Connecticut to claim the PGA Traveler's Tournament trophy on June 23-26.
